When records and reality differ
Company records reflect the details given when shares were first bought. A change of surname after marriage, an alternative spelling of a first name, or several house moves later, these details may no longer match your PAN, Aadhaar, bank or demat account.
A mismatch can lead to rejected demat or transmission requests, undelivered communications and unclaimed dividends. The fix is to update the RTA's record with the documents it accepts.

How IEPF Assist can help
- Choosing the right supporting documents
- Preparing the update request
- Following up
We are an independent consultancy. We help you prepare, organise and follow up — the decision on your request always rests with the company, the Registrar and Transfer Agent (RTA), the depository or the relevant authority.
Expected stages and possible delays
We cannot promise a completion date, because processing depends on third parties. Common reasons for delay include:
- Additional proof requests
- RTA processing time
- Further mismatches discovered
